WHAT IS MARCH MADNESS, AS I SEE IT?
March Madness-How to Make Sure You're the Winner
You know, I think all the articles about beating winter blues, or fighting it, or even giving it a smackdown, as I like to say, can communicate the wrong idea. Maybe we’re all wrong to speak of it that way.
Because the truth is, what you resist, persists … a lot longer than it might, otherwise. What we really need to do is lean into the curve.
Accept that even though the world is beginning to speak of all things spring, you are still experiencing winter. The biggest mistake you can make is trying to live as if that isn’t the case.
What if you stopped fighting it?
That is the best survival strategy I can recommend. So let’s admit it. We’re having February, Part Two.
It's March madness - it sounds crazy, but it's true! And my version has nothing to do with people aiming a ball at a hoop or guessing who will win, because there are no winners in this game.
Or are there? And if there are winners, how can you make sure you're one of them?
Hygge self-care means "making pleasure a priority and developing daily habits that make you feel happy and nurtured, including listening to the music you love, drinking your favorite tea" and other hygge practices you love.
Are you taking care of yourself in ways that help manage or lessen your winter blues symptoms? Take the hygge self-care quiz (you can print it so you'll have it handy in the future) below to make sure.
This weekend, let's get together over a cup of tea or hot chocolate and I'll share several strategies for surviving spring when you still have winter blues. I'll also show you how to create a self-care plan to begin using them right away.
See you then!
