"Right now, when our world feels a little bit uncertain,
hygge is a way to practice self-care that feels sincere."
-Anne Roderique-Jones, Self.com

Are you still having winter blues symptoms, because it follows you into and through spring? Then, you need a hygge self-care plan that not only helps you survive spring in a way you haven't been able to before, but also helps you create happy moments throughout the day that offset any misery created by your winter blues symptoms.

Journal Ritual to Create Your Hygge Self-Care Plan

Grab your journal, and a pen, then light a candle and pour yourself a cup of tea. Once you get settled, take several moments to breathe in and out, deeply and slowly, and let go of any tension or stress you've been feeling.

When you're settled in and cozy, think through these questions and write down the answers and ideas that come to mind in your journal. Then, create a daily and weekly plan that will make these last few months of winter blues a lot easier than they usually are.

"It’s about a feeling, the sounds of crackling fires, something comforting.
And this can only be good for you – the ultimate in self care."
-Nicky Duffell, ProperPost.co.uk

The Journal Questions

Picture

(1) Which hygge practices would make this month easier?

(2) Thinking about my happiness superpowers, what could I do every day that would make me feel happier?

(3) What is one special thing I could plan for each week and look forward to that I know I would enjoy?

(4) What can I say no to this month that will make it easier?

(5) How can I change my homeschooling (or other) schedule so that I feel less stressed & more nurtured?

(6) How do I want this month to feel?

(7) What can I do to make sure it feels that way?

Let me know which hygge self-care strategies you've come up with for surviving spring. I'll share some spring fix ideas, too, in upcoming posts.

See you next time!
